How do I get the shine off my dress pants?
I have a pair of dress pants that have developed a shine on the lap area. Dry cleaners say they can't remove it. I'm afarid of laundering them for fear of fading and having them look lighter than my suit jacket. Would a garment steamer help? Any response would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If I've not mistaken, this is due to ironing at a temperature too high.
Unfortunate for you, there is no way to fix this problem.
Be more careful with the temperature of your iron the next time you iron your pants or any piece.
It is advisable to start with a cooler iron and slowly work your way up. A spray of water will help to ease out those folds and wrinkles.
