Dress Must
Has a dress code in public high school proven to increase academic success and how conservative must it be?
I am researching the direct impact of dress code on academic performance. Does it matter if the code mandates a uniform or clothes chosen by students within guidelines.
It would take a long time to see a significant difference for academic success in association to dress code, if any at all. So far the only real result has been the attempt of schools to try to take back control on their student body by re-introducing respect, values, and discipline, through strict regulations. Is obvious that is going to take more than a dress code, but it is a start. In dress code etiquette, conservativism should not be misconstrude and unappreciated, but understood to be a tool to bring uniformity, school pride, and a form of aid to staff. It is imperative to mention that such measures, like that of a dress code, would not have been necessary, should our civilization not been so deteriorated. I takes the involvement of mass media in all its forms(since it is the main source of influence on teens), parental support and guideness (specially in times where parents and youth are so distant), and student acceptance and recognition that some measures must be taken for their own benefit. It all boils down to a change in views, a more respectul and caring type of views, where love and respect for self, will bring love and respect for all. Worry not about what you wear but what you learn and put it to the test, when taking that test! Take with you the sence of intellectual growth where you can say you understand that wisdom is knowledge without arrogance and selfishness. A change in attitude, a much needed change in views. Maybe this way a dress code would not be necessary.
